Our Team

Ross Peat is a “recovering” corporate exec turned active start-up investor.  He has invested into dozens of start-ups as a member of the ICE Angels.

Ross’s career included eight years with IBM and four years as Managing Director of Microsoft New Zealand.  Ross is currently the Executive Director of pharmacy software company HealthSoft, Deputy Chair of REANNZ, and an Executive Consultant with well management platform Apteryx, which was recently acquired by the NZX.

Dennis is a kiwi that moved to Berkeley in the 80s for University.  In Berkeley Dennis co-founded Rebis and grew it as CEO to become the worldwide leader in plant applications for AutoCAD.  He subsequently served as SVP of Cyra Technologies, which was acquired in 2001 for USD$70m

Since returning from the US, Dennis has served as a General Partner of Endeavour i-Cap and Investor Director of Adherium (ASX:ADR). He is also an active investor with the ICE Angels.

Richard Burns set off for a UK OE and returned to New Zealand 25 years later after retiring as a Senior Corporate Finance Partner at PWC London. Since returning from the UK, Richard has served as a Director of Corporate Finance firm Cobalt Partners as well as the Director of Advancement at King’s College.

Richard has invested in a number of start-ups with the ICE Angels, is currently the investor director for Justly, and most recently served as the Mentor in Residence for the Lightning Lab Accelerator.

Tim Williams is an entrepreneur known as the first foreigner to list a company (ValueClick) on the Japanese stock exchange.  He subsequently listed a second company called ValueCommerce.

Tim is currently a Board Member of The Icehouse and an Investor Director of a number of kiwi start-ups including 90 Seconds, ShuttleRock, and PicsOS.

Andy has served as CEO of The Icehouse since it was established in 2001 and is a Board Member of The ICE Angels and founder/ Director of the GD1 Seed Fund.

Andy was formerly a Director of eBus (acquired by IMDB) and is an investor in PowerbyProxi, Parrot Analytics, TranscribeMe, and the GD1 Seed Fund.

Robbie is the Managing Partner of Tuhua and CEO of ICE Angels, an angel network that has invested >$50m into 97 start-ups since 2004.

As CEO of ICE Angels Robbie has worked with 100s of start-ups and invested in a number including ShuttleRock, Quiver, Booktrack, 1Above and Parrot Analytics.  In 2013 Robbie established the ICE Angels Showcase Funds, annual funds that have invested in 33 kiwi start-ups since 2013.

Robbie joined The Icehouse in 2008 after relocating from the US. He has trained under US Angel Capital Association Hans Severiens Award Winner, Bill Payne; US ACA Director, Dan Rosen; and US Angel Resource Institute Chairman, Michael Cain.

Mark joined The Icehouse in 2010 and most recently led the launch and first programme for Lightning Lab Auckland. As Programme Director of Lightning Lab Auckland, Mark worked closely with 9 seed stage digital start-ups, six of which collectively raised >$3m after Demo Day.

Mark has served as a mentor to dozens of start-ups and is an investor in Parrot Analytics, Showcase Fund 2, the Lightning Lab Demo Day Fund, and the GD1 Seed Fund.
